Often, we may be afraid to show our True Self to others. We may pretend we agree with them even though we very well know what they\u2019re saying is not correct. Or, we downplay what we know allowing them to feel superior than us. We ignore our feelings and cover up our thoughts only to get along, because we do not want to make any waves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t share exactly how we feel about a situation, or let them know when their behavior towards us was hurtful. Though we get angry, we dismiss our emotion. We get upset, and yet we say we\u2019re okay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we go through life constantly covering up our true emotions and feelings to blend in with the crowd, we lose our identity. We are no longer who we say we are, and our True Self gets filled with resentment and anger, disappointment as well as regrets. Does this sound familiar to you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is that? Is it because we fear rejection? Are we worried that people will not like us? Or, is it fear of being judged and maybe ridiculed? Maybe we are even concerned there may be jealousy or hatred toward us if we start to shine brighter than them? Or, simply because we don\u2019t want to deal with the consequences of what may happen if we do speak up. Instead, we just go along with the flow in order to keep the peace and quiet around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do yourself a favor and don\u2019t hold back your emotions. You are as valuable of a human being on this earth as anyone else. So why shouldn\u2019t your opinion matter? Why shouldn\u2019t you have a voice? Why is it that you should always do what you\u2019re told without questioning? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though sometimes it is appropriate to keep quiet, it\u2019s not okay to allow others to take advantage of you all the time. When you feel strongly about a situation, do speak your mind, obviously in a polite way. There is no need to raise your voice, nor confront someone in an aggressive way. Always share your opinion respectfully. Whether the other person wants to listen to you or not, that\u2019s that person\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, next time you are faced with a situation where you feel pushed and manipulated, stand up for yourself. Allow your True Self to come forth. Share your voice, be heard, and after that, it\u2019s up to the world if they want to hear you. And if you do get judged, chastised, ridiculed or retaliated against, so be it. Know that no one can hurt you because God will always back you up and guide your path. All you need to do is TRUST and be in constant communication with Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
