When was the last time you were ‘nice’ to those around you?<\/p>\n

What do I mean by ‘nice’ you may ask? Simple. Do you smile<\/em> and say ‘good morning<\/em>‘ when you pass by a person or get in the elevator? Do you open the door for someone who’s behind you as you enter the building? Are you selective with your words when you express your opinion? How about writing a note to a friend “just because” to show that you care and that you are there for him or her?\u00a0 And, guess what? All of these actions cost absolutely nothing<\/em>, and yet they are priceless to those on the receiving end.<\/p>\n

If you find it hard to be nice all day long, or it’s just not in your nature, try to say one nice thing or do one good deed each day. Not only will you pleasantly surprise the person you are nice to, but you’ll also feel good about yourself. Before you know it, being nice and kind to those around you will become your second nature. You may be thinking, “Yeah right! I can’t be ‘nice’ all day long.<\/em>” The only way to believe me is if you try this. Then, you’ll understand.<\/p>\n

Let me clarify one thing. I’m not suggesting that you become a door mat. Not at all. What I am saying is to think before you speak, choose your words, and most of all, smile when you greet someone, even if you may not feel like smiling.<\/p>\n

You may not realize it, but your one<\/em> kind action positively affects the person on the receiving end who in return does something nice for another person and so on.
